Locked device

Phone disabled, pattern or screen lock code forgotten? We recover your data.

A locked smartphone does not mean the data is lost. Photos, chats and contacts are still in memory—only access is missing. We extract them at chip level in our workshop in Bonn, with mail-in service throughout Germany.

What is possible with each device

We do not promise anything that is technically impossible. This overview shows you where you stand in advance.

Device and situationData recovery
iPhone up to iPhone X, disabled, screen lock code known, not reset Possible in many cases
iPhone 11 and newer, disabled Currently not possible
iPhone reset to factory settings Not possible
Samsung and all other Android devices, pattern, PIN or screen lock code forgotten Possible across models
Android device with an additional boot loop or water damage Possible, subject to diagnosis

Not sure which model you have? Send it in—the diagnosis only costs you anything if we cannot recover the data.

How it works

Your data in three steps

1. Kostenlos einsenden

You receive an insured DHL shipping label. Pack it, drop it off, done. From anywhere in Germany.

2. Diagnosis & decryption

Our technicians analyse the memory under a microscope and read it at chip level. 24–48 hours.

3. Get your data back

Photos, videos, chats and contacts on an AES-encrypted USB drive. Only then do you pay.

Background

Why a locked phone is not a lost phone

When an iPhone displays “iPhone unavailable” or a Samsung Galaxy asks for a lock pattern that no one remembers, it seems final. But it is not. The lock sits in front of the memory, not inside it. Your photos, WhatsApp chats, contacts and notes remain unchanged, exactly where they have always been. Only the key is missing.

What really happens when an iPhone is disabled

After several incorrect entries, iOS locks the device for progressively longer periods until the message “iPhone unavailable” appears. This is a safeguard against unauthorised access—and it works. For you as the owner, it initially means only that the usual way into the device is blocked. That is why we work directly on the logic board rather than through the lock screen.

Two conditions are crucial. First, the device must not have been reset to factory settings . Second, the original screen lock code must be known . If both conditions are met, recovery is possible in many cases up to and including iPhone X. We do not currently offer it for iPhone 11 onwards—and no provider promising otherwise can change that.

Android: pattern, PIN or screen lock code forgotten

The situation is different with Samsung. Here, we work across models, from the Galaxy S range and the Note series to current Android versions. The process is always the same: first diagnosis, then decryption, then the actual data recovery. Whether you have forgotten the password, PIN or swipe pattern makes no difference to the technical approach.

The most costly mistake: resetting

The most common reason we have to turn customers away is not technical. It is a click. Anyone who resets their device to factory settings or erases it remotely via “Find My” or “Find My Mobile” overwrites the memory. From that moment on, there is nothing left for anyone to recover. The same applies to further guessing attempts on the lock screen: they extend the lockout and, depending on the settings, can trigger automatic erasure.

If you are unsure: switch off the device, set it aside and call us. A call costs nothing and has already saved many people's data.

Why software from the internet does not help here

Programs that promise to unlock any phone in minutes almost always require exactly what is missing: working access to the operating system or enabled USB debugging. Neither is available on a locked device. What these tools often offer instead is a reset—the very step that permanently destroys your data. Data recovery from a locked device requires hardware intervention. It takes place under a microscope, not in a downloads folder.

Data privacy and process

Your device does not leave our workshop in Bonn. All work is carried out in strict confidence, and we provide the recovered data on an AES-encrypted USB drive. We do not require separate proof of ownership—your authorisation to carry out the work is sufficient.

Not sure whether your case qualifies? Describe it to us. We will tell you honestly whether sending it in is worthwhile—even if the answer is no. You can find more information about the general process on our page about fixed-price phone data recovery , and specifically for Apple devices on the page about iPhone data recovery .

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about locked devices

Your data is still there. Let's recover it.

For a disabled iPhone with a known screen lock code, the fixed price of 179,90 € applies, including a USB drive and shipping. If the code on an Android device is unknown, we provide the price after diagnosis. If recovery is unsuccessful, you pay only the fee of 29,90 €.
