Data Recovery and Digital Provision of Recovered Data
As part of a commissioned data recovery service, we process the data on the device provided to us that is necessary for technical recovery. This may include, in particular, photos, videos, contacts, messages, documents and other personal content stored on the device. This may also include personal data of third parties; where required, we comply with the applicable data protection requirements.
If digital provision has been agreed, the recovered files may be temporarily stored on storage systems provided for this purpose. Customers access their personal customer centre by logging in with their email address and password. Download links provided there are additionally password-protected and are each valid for 24 hours. During the standard availability period of 30 calendar days from the first possible access, a new link can be provided after a link expires.
The copies of the recovered files stored for digital download will be deleted after this 30-day availability period expires. At the customer's express request, we will delete these copies without undue delay before the period expires, provided no overriding statutory obligations prevent this. Once deleted, the data can no longer be provided again from these copies. Invoices, contracts and other business records subject to retention requirements are handled separately in accordance with legal requirements.

Advertising tracking / Affiliate
Use of Google Analytics 4
We use the web analytics service Google Analytics on our website, provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; “Google”). The purpose of this data processing is to analyse this website and its visitors, as well as for marketing and advertising purposes. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use the information obtained to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity and provide the website operator with other services relating to website and internet use. The information collected may include: IP address, date and time of the page visit, click path, information about the browser and device you use, pages visited, referrer URL (the website from which you accessed our website), location data and purchasing activity. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with other data held by Google. When Google Analytics 4 is used, the IP address transmitted by your website is automatically collected and processed in anonymised form. Google first truncates the IP address within member states of the European Union or other states that are parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Where this service involves data processing or access to information on your device that requires consent, we use it only with your prior consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect through our cookie settings. You can prevent Google from collecting the data generated by Google Analytics relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. To prevent Google Analytics from collecting and storing data across devices, you can set an opt-out cookie. Opt-out cookies prevent your data from being collected during future visits to this website. You must opt out on all systems and devices you use for this to be fully effective. If you delete the opt-out cookie, requests will be sent to Google again. Further information about the terms of use and privacy is available at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de&gl=de.
Use of the Facebook Pixel
We use the “Custom Audiences” remarketing feature provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland, “Facebook”) on our website. Meta Platforms Ireland and we are joint controllers for the collection of your data and its transmission to Facebook when the service is integrated. This is based on an agreement between us and Meta Platforms Ireland on the joint processing of personal data, which sets out the respective responsibilities. The agreement is available at https://www.facebook.com/legal/controller_addendum. The application is used to target website visitors with interest-based advertising on the Facebook social network. For this purpose, Facebook's remarketing tag has been implemented on the website. When you visit the website, this tag establishes a direct connection to Facebook's servers. This transmits information to the Facebook server about which of our pages you have visited. Facebook associates this information with your personal Facebook user account. When you visit the Facebook social network, you will then be shown personalized, interest-based Facebook ads. Your data may be transferred to the USA. For data transfers to the USA, an adequacy decision by the European Commission under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework applies to appropriately certified companies. Appropriate safeguards may be required for other recipients. Data transfers are based, among other things, on standard contractual clauses as appropriate safeguards for the protection of personal data, available at: https://www.facebook.com/legal/EU_data_transfer_addendum. To the extent that this service involves data processing or access to information on your device that requires consent, we use it only with your prior consent on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via our cookie settings. You can disable the “Custom Audiences” remarketing feature here. Further information about Facebook's collection and use of data, your rights in this regard, and options for protecting your privacy can be found in Facebook's privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.
Use of Google Ads Conversion Tracking
We use the “Google Ads” online advertising program on our website and, as part of this, conversion tracking (analysis of visitor actions). Google Conversion Tracking is an analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). When you click on an ad placed by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is stored on your computer. These cookies have a limited lifespan, do not contain any personal data, and therefore are not used to identify you personally. If you visit certain pages on our website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognize that you clicked on the ad and were redirected to that page. Each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie. This means that cookies cannot be tracked across the websites of Ads customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to compile conversion statistics. This tells us the total number of users who clicked on one of our ads and were redirected to a page containing a conversion tracking tag. However, we do not receive any information that could personally identify users. Your data may be transferred to Google LLC's servers in the USA. For data transfers to the USA, an adequacy decision by the European Commission under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework applies to appropriately certified companies. Appropriate safeguards may be required for other recipients. Data transfers are based, among other things, on standard contractual clauses as appropriate safeguards for the protection of personal data, available at: https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks and https://business.safety.google/adscontrollerterms/. To the extent that this service involves data processing or access to information on your device that requires consent, we use it only with your prior consent on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via our cookie settings. You can disable personalized advertising in Google's ad settings. Instructions are available at https://support.google.com/ads/answer/2662922?hl=de. Alternatively, you can prevent third parties from using cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative's opt-out page at https://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/. Further information and Google's privacy policy are available at: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.
Use of Google AdSense
We use the AdSense feature provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) on our website. The purpose of this data processing is to rent out advertising space on the website and use it to target website visitors with interest-based advertising. This feature displays personalized, interest-based ads from the Google Display Network to visitors to the provider's website. Google uses cookies that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google may transfer this information to third parties where required by law or where third parties process this data on Google's behalf. Google will never associate your IP address with other data held by Google. To the extent that this service involves data processing or access to information on your device that requires consent, we use it only with your prior consent on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via our cookie settings. You can permanently disable Google's use of cookies by following the link below and downloading and installing the plug-in provided there: https://support.google.com/ads/answer/7395996?hl=de. Alternatively, you can prevent third parties from using cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative's opt-out page at https://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/. Further information and Google's privacy policy are available at: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/ and https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.
Use of Google Inc.'s Remarketing or “Similar Audiences” Feature
We use the remarketing or “Similar Audiences” feature provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) on our website. The application is used to analyze visitor behavior and interests. Google uses cookies to analyze website usage, which forms the basis for creating interest-based ads. These cookies record visits to the website and anonymized data about website usage. No personal data about website visitors is stored. If you subsequently visit another website within the Google Display Network, you will be shown ads that are highly likely to take into account the product and information sections you previously viewed. Your data may be transferred to Google LLC's servers in the USA. For data transfers to the USA, an adequacy decision by the European Commission under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework applies to appropriately certified companies. Appropriate safeguards may be required for other recipients. Data transfers are based, among other things, on standard contractual clauses as appropriate safeguards for the protection of personal data, available at: https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks. Further information about Google Remarketing and the associated privacy policy are available at: https://www.google.com/privacy/ads/.
Use of Microsoft Advertising
We use Microsoft Advertising from Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA; “Microsoft”) on our website. The data is processed for marketing and advertising purposes and to measure the success of advertising campaigns (conversion tracking). We learn the total number of users who clicked on one of our ads and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, this does not allow these users to be personally identified. Microsoft Advertising uses technologies such as cookies and tracking pixels to analyse your use of the website. When you click on an ad served by Microsoft Advertising, a conversion tracking cookie is stored on your computer. This cookie has a limited validity period and is not used for personal identification. If you visit certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, Microsoft and we can recognise that you clicked on the ad and were redirected to that page. The information collected may include: IP address, identifiers assigned by Microsoft, information about the browser and device you use, referrer URL (the website from which you accessed our website), and the URL of our website. Your data may be transferred to the USA. For data transfers to the USA, an adequacy decision by the European Commission under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework applies to appropriately certified companies. Appropriate safeguards may be required for other recipients. To the extent that this service involves data processing or access to information on your device that requires consent, we only use it with your prior consent on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via our cookie settings. You can prevent cookies from being stored by selecting the appropriate technical settings in your browser software; however, please note that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website in full. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. Further information about data protection and the cookies used by Microsoft Bing can be found here.
Use of TikTok Pixel
We use TikTok Pixel on our website, provided by TikTok Technology Limited (10 Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin, D02 T380, Ireland; “TikTok Ireland”) and TikTok Information Technologies UK Limited (6th Floor, One London Wall, London, EC2Y 5EB, United Kingdom; “TikTok UK”). Both companies are joint controllers for data processing (hereinafter “TikTok”). The data is processed to identify and analyse our customers' website visits, to reach customers more effectively through targeted advertising, and to evaluate the effectiveness of ads on TikTok. For this purpose, TikTok uses technologies such as cookies and pixels that enable your browser to be recognised. The following information, among other things, may be collected and transmitted to TikTok: date and time of the visit, information about the browser and device type you use, screen resolution, and IP address. TikTok may associate this information with your personal TikTok user account. Usage profiles may be created from the data collected in this way using pseudonyms. However, this does not allow users to be personally identified. Your data may be transferred to third countries, such as the USA. For data transfers to the USA, an adequacy decision by the European Commission under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework applies to appropriately certified companies. Appropriate safeguards may be required for other recipients. Data transfers to third countries without an adequacy decision are based, among other things, on standard contractual clauses as appropriate safeguards for the protection of personal data, available at: https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/law-topic/data-protection/international-dimension-dataprotection/standard-contractual-clauses-scc_de. To the extent that this service involves data processing or access to information on your device that requires consent, we only use it with your prior consent on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via our cookie settings. Use of the ADCELL Affiliate Programme
We use the “ADCELL” affiliate programme provided by Firstlead GmbH (Rosenfelder Str. 15-16, 10315 Berlin; “ADCELL”). When you click on an ad containing an affiliate link, ADCELL stores a conversion tracking cookie on your computer. The cookies ensure accurate billing within the affiliate programme by recording the success of advertising material. The cookies recognise that you clicked on the ad and allow the source of the order placed with the advertiser to be traced. ADCELL also uses tracking pixels. These allow information such as visitor traffic on the pages to be analysed. The information generated by cookies and tracking pixels about the use of this website (including the IP address) and the delivery of advertising formats is transmitted to an ADCELL server and stored there. Among other things, ADCELL can recognise that the affiliate link on this website was clicked. ADCELL may pass this (anonymised) information on to contractual partners under certain circumstances, but data such as the IP address is not combined with other stored data. To the extent that this service involves data processing or access to information on your device that requires consent, we only use it with your prior consent on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via our cookie settings. You can disable tracking by ADCELL here: https://www.adcell.de/datenschutz. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. You can prevent cookies from being stored by selecting the appropriate technical settings in your browser software; however, please note that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website in full.
Plug-ins and Other Services
Use of Google Tag Manager
We use Google Tag Manager from Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; “Google”) on our website. This application manages JavaScript tags and HTML tags used in particular to implement tracking and analytics tools. The data is processed to tailor our website to users' needs and optimise it. Google Tag Manager itself does not store cookies or process personal data. However, it enables other tags to be triggered that may collect and process personal data. Further information about the terms of use and data protection can be found here.
Use of Facebook's Single Sign-On Function
We use the single sign-on function (formerly Facebook Connect) provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland; “Facebook”) on our website. Meta Plattforms Ireland and we are joint controllers for the collection of your data and its transmission to Facebook when the service is integrated. This is based on an agreement between us and Meta Platforms Ireland on the joint processing of personal data, which sets out the respective responsibilities. The agreement is available at https://www.facebook.com/legal/controller_addendum. This function allows website visitors to log in to the website using their existing Facebook account. The data is processed for verification during registration, personalisation, and interest-based advertising. To offer this function on the website, a connection to the Facebook server is established. Cookies are used for this purpose. The following information, among other things, may be collected and transmitted to Facebook: IP address, browser information, referrer URL (the website from which you accessed our website), and location data. This applies regardless of whether you are registered with or logged in to the social network. Data is also transmitted for users who are not registered or not logged in. If you are logged in to one or more of your social network accounts at the same time, the information collected may also be associated with your respective profiles. You can prevent this association by logging out of your social media accounts before visiting our website and before activating the buttons. When the single sign-on function is used, the website visitor's Facebook profile is linked to a customer account for this website. In this process, we receive the user's personal data from Facebook as specified during the login process. Use of Google reCAPTCHA
We use the reCAPTCHA service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; “Google”) on our website. The check is intended to distinguish between input by a human and automated, machine-based processing. For this purpose, your input is transmitted to Google and used there. In addition, your IP address and, where applicable, other data required by Google for the reCAPTCHA service are transmitted to Google. Google processes this data within the European Union and may also transfer it to Google LLC servers in the USA. For data transfers to the USA, an adequacy decision by the European Commission under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework applies to appropriately certified companies. For other recipients, appropriate safeguards may be required. Data transfers are based, among other things, on standard contractual clauses as appropriate safeguards for the protection of personal data, available at: https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks. Your personal data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR due to our overriding legitimate interest in protecting our website against automated data harvesting, misuse and SPAM. You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to this processing of your personal data based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Further information about Google reCAPTCHA and the associated privacy policy can be found at: https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/android.html and https://www.google.com/privacy.
Use of Google Maps
We use the function for embedding GoogleMaps maps provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; “Google”) on our website. This function enables the visual display of geographical information and interactive maps. When pages containing embedded GoogleMaps maps are accessed, Google also collects, processes and uses data about website visitors. Your data may also be transferred to the USA. Where this service involves data processing or access to information on your device that requires consent, we use it only with your prior consent on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via our cookie settings. Further information about Google's collection and use of data can be found in Google's privacy policy at https://www.google.com/privacypolicy.html. You can also change your settings in the Privacy Center there to manage and protect the data Google processes about you.
Use of YouTube

YouTube is a company affiliated with Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). This function displays videos hosted on YouTube in an iFrame on the website. The “Privacy-enhanced mode” option is enabled. As a result, YouTube does not store any information about visitors to the website. Information is only transmitted to YouTube and stored there when you watch a video. Your data may be transferred to the USA. For data transfers to the USA, an adequacy decision by the European Commission under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework applies to appropriately certified companies. For other recipients, appropriate safeguards may be required. Data subject rights and retention periods
Retention period
We retain personal data from contract and order processing only for as long as necessary to perform the contract, safeguard legal rights or comply with statutory retention obligations, particularly those under commercial and tax law. It is then deleted in accordance with legal requirements.
For temporarily stored copies of private files restored as part of data recovery, the availability period described above applies, generally 30 calendar days from the time access first becomes possible. If deletion is expressly requested, these copies made available for access will be deleted early, unless an overriding statutory obligation prevents this.
Data you submit to us via forms will be deleted as soon as it is no longer needed to handle the relevant request, unless statutory obligations or legitimate grounds for retention prevent this.
Rights of the data subject
Where the legal requirements are met, you have the following rights in particular under Art. 15 to 20 GDPR: the right of access, to rectification, to erasure, to restriction of processing and to data portability. Under Art. 21(1) GDPR, you also have the right to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and to processing for direct marketing purposes.
Right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority
Under Art. 77 GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority if you believe that your personal data is not being processed lawfully. You can lodge a complaint with, among others, the supervisory authority responsible for us, which can be reached using the following contact details:
State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia PO Box 20 04 44 40102 Düsseldorf Tel.: +49 211 384240 Fax: +49 211 38424999 Email: poststelle@ldi.nrw.de
Right to object
Where the personal data processing described here is based on our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object to this processing at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, with effect for the future. Following an objection, processing of the data concerned will cease unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. If personal data is processed for direct marketing purposes, you can object to this processing at any time by notifying us. Following an objection, we will stop processing the data concerned for direct marketing purposes.
